This Privacy Policy describes how Archipelago Method collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Service, on the web or through our iOS app.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address, username, language preferences, and optional profile photo. We also collect usage data such as which stories you practice, your progress statistics, and any posts or comments you make in the Community. If you subscribe, we receive your subscription status and purchase history from our payment providers, but never your full card details.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, process payments, send transactional emails, and personalise your learning experience. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, OpenAI for the AI dictionary and story features, and Amazon Web Services for generating spoken-story audio. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. On the iOS app, subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat; Apple and RevenueCat handle your payment details, not us. Each service has its own privacy policy.
Audio Recordings
Audio recordings you make while practicing (in your browser or on your phone) are processed and played back entirely on your own device and are not uploaded or stored on our servers unless explicitly indicated.
Community Content
If you post to the Community, your username, avatar, and post or comment content are visible to other users. Other users can report content they believe violates our guidelines or block you; we review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate our guidelines.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data at any time — in the iOS app under Settings > Delete Account, or by contacting us on the web.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
